about passport explored

Hello!

I’m Michael, an adventure traveler who loves to share my experiences through this blog.

My goal is to inspire people to step outside of their comfort zone and live without regrets. If you like the idea of exploring unique destinations and finding adventure through travel, you’re in the right place.

So what makes this website different? Is this just another generic travel blog?

Well, for one, I specialize in the combination of culture, adventure, and travel. That means you probably won’t see any articles about a quick weekend in Cancun. I generally prefer to go off the beaten path and explore locations that aren’t overwhelmed by tourists.

Second, I truly believe in quality over quantity. Whereas a lot of blogs pump out low quality content every couple of days, I make sure that every article on this site is worth reading.

Thanks for stopping by and for showing an interest in the site! Check out my FAQ below if you’d like to know more about me.

Where are you from?

I’m from the United States! California to be exact.

I’ve also lived in Minnesota and Arizona.

Where have you traveled?

As of this writing, I’ve been to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Anguilla, and Saint Martin.

What does Passport Explored mean?

It doesn’t really mean anything. It’s just two words that are easy to spell, easy to remember, and related to travel.

What camera do you use?

Great question!

I have a Canon 6D with various lenses. I typically use a Canon 24-105mm F4 zoom lens while I’m traveling.

Where do you want to go next?

Probably Colombia or Norway.

Will you ever travel outside of Latin America?

Sure. I want to visit other areas of the world as well. However, Latin America (a region that includes Mexico, Central America, South America, and certain Caribbean islands) fascinates me for a few reasons:

  • I can speak Spanish
  • Latin America is incredibly rich in culture
  • It’s less frequented and very authentic
  • Most Latin American countries are excellent budget destinations
What's your favorite article on this site?
